Solid runs great Here we have an extemely rare Datsun 810 Maxima Diesel.This vehicle is as rare as a Diesel Ferrari if there ever was one.A needle in a haystack.A true collectors item,A real car.I guess that makes my point.This is when Nissan formally called Datsun made great cars.

Nissan imported The diesel designation for 3 years. The 83 was the most refined boasting the 4 speed automatic overdrive transmission that delivered impressive fuel economy with relaxed high speed interstate cruising.(37mpg) estimated. The name Maxima was put on the trunklid because it was a fully loaded 810.Moreover it had every option standard.This vehicle was remarkable and had incredible engineering built into it.It was Nissan's Mercedes to the world... The Infinti Of the 80's... It would cost Nissan twice as much to make a car this Good Today.Power assisted rack and pinion steering,independant suspension with rear semi trailing arms rear wheel drive,4 wheel vented brakes,Ovehead cam inline six with fuel injection.A powerful car that intimidated the costly imports, better and for less.

Interior is sumptuous 10 way power seats,power locks,windows mirrors cruise control and antenna.Nissan's superb super sound system with 6 speakers.Refined looking interior with all guages including voice warning system A female voice reminding you that your fuel level is low,key is in the ignition,lights are on,parking brake is on, right anf left door is open.

Exterior has a few dents and creases but still looks good Original paint is starting to show age. Has a beautiful stance rivaling Bmw 5series.

Mechanically Maxima is excellent I would not even hesitate driving this vehicle cross country.Engine starts right up even in sub freezing temp.Has remakably no blowby. Engine is tight is. it is Excellent. Its just barely breaking in. Has brand new glow plugs. Starter and alternator have been replaced.Transmission is smooth tight and responsive.

Front suspension has been overhauled Ball joints, tie rod ends, and shocks were replaced.However rear springs are sagging a typical trademark for Datsuns some squeaks from the rear springs but it does no interfere with its robustness and durability.

Nissan's ld28 inline six is amongst the smoothest reving diesels i have ever driven. This diesel Aint NO DOG. The 80 hp diesel is powerful with gobs of torque.Accelerates briskly from any situation Unlike Mercedes diesels of the era.

A great car....

Cruise control,antenna are inop

Sunroof has been deleted to eliminate any leaks or future trouble.

Overall a solid and dependable vehicle
