Help!!!! Thermostat housing snapped!!

Help!!!! Thermostat housing snapped!!

Replaced the manifold gasket on my LD28, refitting the thermostat holusing and the lug at one end has snapped off. Anybody in UK got one in a hurry please as I need the vehicle for work. Part number 11061 in this diagram:

Local (craftsman - don't go to the muffler shop) welder? New clean break, non-structural, not subjected to exhaust gas and heat... Seems like it should weld up OK,; but both aluminum and cast iron (don't know which it is) needs a good experienced welder. The right guy s/b able to do it in an hour.

IIRC, the normal L24e (gasser Maxima) and the other L-series gasser engines' thermostat housings are the same part, and over here are plentiful.

IOW, it's not a diesel-specific part.

The housing usually breaks when you don't have the thermostat centered correctly and try to tighten the bolts.

Just a reminder to those new and following along: the LD28 thermostat is special.
