rod bearing caps

SD diesels were widely available in the US in the 1981-86 Datsun/Nissan 720 pickups, and in Canada through '87 in the D21 pickup.

The little keys or notches on the bearing shells go on the same side.
Match the key or notch of the bearing cap with the key or notch in the rod.
One will be towards the back and one will be towards the front of the crankshaft, but both on the same side.
Also, the numbers are usually together as well. The number on the rod and the number on the cap go together as well.
No arrows on these guys, and, I think, if you look at the engines you refer to you will see that the notches or "keys" and the numbers go together on the same side on those as well.
