Hi everyone,
I'm working on getting running a 720 PU with an SD22. I've got a leaking tube on the male end that connects to the injectors. I pulled it off and sure enough theres an uneven ring pressed onto the end. Looks like someone torqued down the nut a little too much and it wasn't sitting right.
Does anyone in the Portland area have a spare injector tube kicking around? It's connects to the injector closest to the radiator.
Any advice as to how I could clean the end up so it sits, with a seal, into the injector. I was thinking to try emory cloth but not sure it would work with this much pressure.
I'd send pics if I could figure out how to do it. I'm new to this space.
Any advice would greatly appreciated! This is the only thing holding me back from taking her for a test drive!
Cheers!

If (and ONLY if) the end is truly screwed, you could try this last ditch attempt to repair. I take no responsibility for any failures; you try this at your own expense. The assumption is made that there is no splitting or crack in the line or ferrule; make sure of this!.
I have in the past been faced with this problem and fixed it a couple of times (and failed a couple of times!) by softening the ferrule and line by moving the nut up the line out of the way and then heating the end of the line with a propane torch until the end of the line and ferrule is red-hot. Remove the flame and allow to cool s-l-o-w-l-y. Chilling the end fast will have the opposite effect desired and would result in the metal being hardened. Cooling slowly may (yes, 'may'; results are not guaranteed!) cause enough softening that the end will re-seal into the seat when you tighten the nut.
Keep us posted...

The old 'six gun' was as popular as the cell phone in its time and just as annoying when it went off in the Theater.

Thanks for the reply Nissan_Ranger. Today I went to a place that fabricated hydraulic lines etc. and was recommended to me to try a copper cone seat seal or compression ferrule. -4 AN (or JIC) cone seat seal should fit the the injector tube.
Unfortunately they didn't have stocked the right size but I'm going to try some other fastener specialty stores in the area. This seems like it might work. I'll keep ya posted and others out there who might encounter this problem.

How did you make out on this. I have the same problem on my SD25 on one injector. I am in a small town with very limited resources.
How critical is it that the injector tubes are the exact length they come in?
Thanks

How did this turn out, I actually have what you need in the Portland area, I live across the river in Vancouver WA, and have several sets of injector tubes for the inline injection pumps, wish I had seen this sooner, if you still need this, PM/email me. wayne
