Up for auction is my 1984 Nissan Maxima with 31,000 original miles .I am sadly selling this car to pay off an IRS debt . I am the second owner . the original owner died a few years after the car was purchased new in New jersey , and the family stored the car in a garage until about 2004 .I purchased the car with 26,000 miles on it and I car faxed it and its legitimate.( click link to connect to auto check to verify) Although this car was stored in a garage for 20 years it does have a few dings ,scratches and imperfections, but the paint finish and chrome grill and trim are beautiful and the car has no rust . The tires are new, all accessories work well ,the a/c worked great this past summer, power antenna and sunroof work good ,voice warning does too. The radio works ok but its a little staticky sometimes. The interior is in very good condition showing very little wear ,and was never smoked in . The car is located at my home in Long Island, New York , but its registered at my home in New Hampshire. I have driven this car a few times back and fourth 5 hours NY to NH and I would drive it anywhere with complete confidence . The engine is the straight six Z engine. If you have any questions or would like to see the car please call me at 516-398-1964 my name is Andrew . thanks !
A two-tone silver/grey '84 Sedan sold here a couple of weeks ago for $2500, it had something like 60k original on it and looked like new from 20 feet away. I didn't look any closer (it wasn't a diesel, after all).
It sat on the lot for about two months to get even that much!
Al, thanks for the post moderation, helps bring my shoddy post up to spec.
This car seems to be pretty mint, but I am unsure of how much the 1st gens sell for around long island, its a really rare car in the area, safe to say there is less than a dozen on long island. I am not sure if there is a correlation to the rarity and desirability of this car, so the final selling price is up in the air.
See how the bidding goes in the next few days, ill make up my mind then. I really do like the blue though.
Thing is that I would get the car, and either I would wind up driving it, and itll lose its pristine condition. Or id be garaging it, where it would sit around and collect dust (more likely situation). Id be more serious of taking in another one if it was a diesel, I want one.
[Edit] I dont think ill be getting this one, sounds like its gonna go up alot in price. Bidding went up to 830 bucks within a few hours.
