The GPC uses the coolant temp sensor as one data input. Another is a wire from the GP bus back to the GPC, measuring voltage at the bus. There might be a problem with the wiring and bus that allows the GPC to think that the GPs are hotter than they are, based on the voltage at the bus.

In any event, I like the manual button for warm starts, and perhaps for longer cold start duration.

I have noticed a change in the system behavior now with the repairs made to the water temp sensor connections.

Before I repaired the connections the #1 relay came on for aprox. 8 seconds all the time. Now that the repairs are done it comes on briefly for warm starts, which isn't enough for adequate starting. I add to that another 5 seconds on the button and get a good clean start.

I'm going to go back and look at the discussion about the glow circuitry again to see if I can get a better handle on how the controller reacts to inputs it gets from the components.
