Ebay (FL) Nissan pickup with LD20II engine

Buy it, sell it, negotiate, haggle, drag it out from under the workbench or behind the garage and make it someone else's problem!

Ebay (FL) Nissan pickup with LD20II engine

#1

Post by glenlloyd »

Speaking of the LD20II engine (from the bio Q&A post), this showed up on Ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0181594874

It didn't have any description when it was first listed so I emailed the seller and asked where the engine came from, since it wasn't possible that that engine came in that truck here in the US. This was besides the rather sloppy way it apparently has been wired up under the hood.

Additionally, a vin check says that it's actually a 1994 truck, not 1993.

I think that this seller is a fairly well known guy on Ebay. His initial feedback was quite poor. Al usually cautions folks who are considering dealing with the fellow.

Thanks for the comments. I wouldn't consider buying it unless a reputable company, or someone I knew and had faith in, did the conversion. It just smells like problems.

the sale information explains it all.

1 photo is for a LD20IIT with electronic auto.
it could be out of a homy/caravan but i think its a vannett coach.WC22
[this is the engine in the D21]the auto could be dificult for first time fitters.it is similar to a late model D21 auto.shift is controlled by a ECU.

3 photos are for a LD20II manual.this is what i have fitted in my 910 with the original gear box and LD20T flywheel.

you see that the throttle cable is on engine side[anti clockwise throttle].

I just checked his feedback. While it appears there are only a couple negative hits in the last six / twelve months, in reality there have been others where the feedback was "mutually withdrawn", you just have to dig further back into the history.

This is the type of person I would NOT buy a conversion from and most likely wouldn't buy an engine from...period.

I think I see that guy sell some cool imports every so often. Like newer nissan patrols and such. Cool conversion but that truck is more like an $800 truck in the south east.

Here's wishing you Good Luck, and we want lots of pics. Those of use in the Americas don't get too much opportunity to see this engine. When you get it installed, can I come by? I get to Tacoma about once a month (mostly to go the the Lakewood JY).

I was in Lakewood today, at the JY of course. Oh, well.

For anyone reading this, there are two gasser Maximas there:

1983 Sedan, silver ext./grey int., bad windshield, bad dash and very bad seats., good visor, radio/cassette gone. Seemingly good half-shafts (axles) for you Sedan folks. Decent intact RF headlight surround & marker. Peeling grille, bad bumpers. Bad console.

I got the trunk lock, gas door lock, digital clock, talking lady module from it.

1982 Wagon, brown/butterscotch, sunroof. Bad windshield. Decent RR taillight assy (unique to the Wagons), tailgate locked and not quite closed so the inside release won't work. Bad rear bumper. Blue front clip.

I got the OD console switch from it.
Regards,
Al S.

Al, how is the condition of the steering wheel in the 83 silver car? My car's steering wheel has the outer rubber part peeling off, thus exposing the real physical steel steering wheel. When it's hot out during the summer and you accidentally touch the steel part of the wheel it's hot! Oh, and does it have the Datsun emblem in the center of it? Being an 83 car it might have Nissan instead. Also, I'm in need of the driver's side sun visor with all its mounting parts too. If the passenger side headlight bezel is in good shape I need that too. Thanks for your reply.

One of the pass. bezels was physically good with the marker uncracked, but the mylar peeling.

The silver car had the visors, don't recall condition. Ditto on the steering wheel. I can't look at and remember everything about every car I contact :(

I will (should) not be back at that JY before that car is crushed, unless plans change, sorry. I only go to Tacoma about once per month; it's a 130 mi. round trip and now has a toll bridge on the way, so it costs me most of a day, which is more valuable than the fuel at this point.

Maybe one of our other Puget Sound members (or Chris in Centralia) will be visiting that JY before those are crushed. If so, I'd like the Wagon's tailgate lifts -- could not get it open, because it needs either the key or two people to unlock it.

I got the "Bitchin' Betty" module and a digital clock from one of them. The silver dash pad has a 2" crack, but the silver glovebox cover was good (I think).

Al S.

For steering wheels, I believe the second generation maxima and the sentra wheels will fit as they seem to be the same "family" and probably the larger size nut than the ones you find on Z31s, 240sx, and Z32s.

I'm looking for one as well but will post any florida junkyard information if I find one in good shape since I am in no hurry to find my own.
