I have two crankshafts and connecting rods from LD28 Nissan diesels. Story is...started with 4...built two diesels...these are parts left over. They have been setting in my shop for over a year. Both have light surface rust...however you can see where I rubbed the journal with my finger. The discoloration on the journal comes right off. Both are standard...with no bearing issues. In fact..the two I assembled back as diesels went together with standard bearings. So...after seeing previous sales, I have what I believe to be a fair reserve. Both cranks have been stored the last year just as the photo shows. If you are interested in LD28 diesel parts..I have cleared out almost everything. Still have a couple of clean heads, pump, etc. I have crankshaft boxes I will put the parts in and spray foam around them for shipping. You will pay actual shipping and costs I incure making sure they get to you in one piece.
I am listing them seperately...however if you want both you will naturally get a discount. This is for one crank and rod set only.
If you have questions, please ask. I will contact you with a reply. You may not like it, however you will get a reply. Also, if you bid and win....it is yours.
If someone wants more LD28 engine parts (maybe a 1983 oil filter base?), contact this feller in Vancouver, WA (across the Columbia from Portland).
I must admit I may be part of that cult. About 5 years ago I was strolling around a JY looking for parts for my Z. I ran across a Maxima Diesel and my brother in law told me to get the crank just in case I ever wanted a stroker motor. Well, the crank is still sitting in my garage as I have not done the stroker yet. However, I have not put it on ebay, either. I will probably hold onto it until I build the stroker or it rusts in half!
In my mind, there's a difference between buying a car and scrapping it for the crank, and finding a car in a JY and harvesting the crank. If it's in a JY, it's very likely never going to be on the road again.
I like the LD28 itself as an engine, and hope to keep more of them on the road. When a complete engine is disassembled for the crank, very often nothing else on the engine is salvaged. Several of us have contacted eBay Sellers of LD28 cranks to ask about the rest of the engine. Most threw everything else away, a couple have offered to sell parts for exorbitant fees.
I will be in LA (So. Pasadena) over Christmas., visiting Dad, hauling 1300 lbs of Onan genset to him in my Green Aerostar. Will be in town about three days. If you need help badly at that time, I might be available for an afternoon. I know Dad would be entertained if he got to come along and watch

Yes, I believe the same theory, if you purchase a good running car, take the crank out of it and have the rest of the car scrapped. Because that once running car is going to the bailer. If its in the JY, its going to the bailer either way, and its just fine to pull a crank.
wow.. stumbled along this thread looking for an actually diesel maxima to drive lol! Thats my motor in the youtube video. I built it 8 years ago to put in my 1982 gasser maxima. Once my maxima got tboned i pulled it out and let it sit for 7 years. then put some 45mm side drafts and put it in a 240z then now a 240sx just for fun. I run the diesel block mainly becuase it allows me to fit a longer rod. people take the ld crank with 240z rod and 89 or 90 mm bore to make a 3.1 or 3.2. I use a z20 6 inch rod, and 90mm ka24e piston to get a 3.2 long rod motor. has a nice rod to stroke ratio and revs 8000 with mild cam.
If you are builing a 3.1 stroker motor then you know this is the key part! These are getting alomost impossible to find now. This is a rare Maxima Diesel V07 crankshaft. I also have other parts for this stroker set up listed!
This crank has been professionally cleaned, polished and knife edged! It is ready to install!
