I picked this up for about $16 (shipped) from Norman at OEMSurplus off eBay. It looks similar to the Gen1 Maxima housing, and it uses the same fuel filter (same part No.) as the Maxima. It sure looks nice, even if the hoses routing is different than the Maxima.
I bought it because:
a) The price of the filter alone is twice $16;
b) I can use it on one of my other diesel projects, and it has a nice, new priming pump
I ordered a couple three OEM filters for the Maxima from Nissan a couple of months ago. Here's one surprise: there is an o-ring that seals the filter media top cap to the threaded plate (I'm guessing), and this one somehow made it past Nissan's QA and into my hands. Again, this is a brand-new filter:
Q: if this o-ring is nitrile, what happens when BD sits in there for a few months? Internal filter bypass?
the location and orientation of the hose fittings looks right for a sentra. But the filter looks a bit long compared to what I recall mine looking like.
