Eventually will be used for a stroker motor in my 240.

A bracket I made so I could use the finned cover on the lsd.

Great pics! I like the one in front of the blimp hangar too, I think I've been there. Is that an air museum? Lots of aviation history in there.

The replacement you fab'd for the moustache bar looks good!

If you're not just tossin' the rest of the LD28 engine, just to get the crank, I'm OK with that. While I'd rather see the LD28 running around as a diesel, if you've got a rusted-out or wrecked Maxima diesel, what to do? Might as well salvage what you can.

It's the ijidts who pull the cranks out to eBay 'em and make a quick buck, then when I email them and ask if they have the rest of the engine (esp. starters, alternators, heads, and IP stuff), they say they just tossed all that "junk", that's when I get burned

Keep the pics coming!

Al S.

Yes, Tillamook air museum. I was able to get that shot after the museum closed. The guy that let me in loved the way my 3" exhaust sounded bouncing off the huge doors.

That was the only diesel maxima that I have seen in the yards around Denver. It was a rusted out hulk in the salvage yard. Kind of like the lsd I found. I got that just as they brought the 300zx in the yard.

The brace for the finned cover I used the old curved cross member then cut out what would have been in the way.

I have taken the 240 to Long Beach and back when the z car convention was hosted there is '04. No a/c or radio to speak of, I think I'll stick with the zxt for the long trips from now on.

Who knew there was such a following for the diesel maximas. I now know what to keep and save if i run across another diesel maxima. It was just a stroke of luck that I came across this one 3 yrs ago.

I found this link on hybridz.org. I'm not sure if 83_maxima mentioned it at all. I have been trying to get him to swap a turboed 2.8 in his maxima. ;-)
