Cheap air filter on e-bay

Buy it, sell it, negotiate, haggle, drag it out from under the workbench or behind the garage and make it someone else's problem!

Cheap air filter on e-bay

#1

Post by Zoltan »

Hey folks,

just got 2 of these filters. These are original Nissan made, for under $10 with shipping it cannot get cheaper. If you order more than one, the extra cost for shipping is only 50 cents. It also goes into the diesel Maxima.

Aloha

I don't think so. That's certainly not Nissan packaging, nor is that the color of the Nissan filter media. There is a "brand" with the name "OEM", and that may be what you bought. The part number does look to be a Nissan part number, but a number of aftermarket mfgrs quote the OEM part number, so that's misleading. AuctionFrontier does sell some decent stuff, but even though the auction text reads, "Nissan Brand EKN VIC FILTERS (EIKENS)", I don't think it's really supplied by Nissan.
It also goes into the diesel Maxima.
It certainly does not. The Gen1 Maxima, whether diesel or gasser, use a panel filter, not cylindrical.

You are right, the filter is made by EIKEN Industries Co., Japan, a major part manufacturer for Japanane carmakers and Bosch (link). In any case, it looks like the original filter, and I wouldn't be surprised if the original Nissan filter was manufactured by Eiken for Nissan.

As for the other fits, it fits the diesel SENTRAs and vans, not the Maxima as I first wrote. Sorry for the mixup.
