Coolant drain plug in block

#1

Post by goglio704 »

I think somebody was wondering about this a while back. The drain plug near the back of the block on the driver's side is 1/2" NPT. There had been speculation about it being metric, but thankfully it is not. I'm busy flushing the cooling system, and like to be able to drain the block. I'll probably install a draincock in place of the plug. For what it is worth folks, always use distilled water in your cooling system. On mine there was a plug (of minerals) behind the drain plug. Going to run some flush for a while and see if any of it will dissolve. Not having overheating trouble or anything - it just bugs me.
