'84 Datsun King Cab Diesel on Ebay (Nebraska)

Buy it, sell it, negotiate, haggle, drag it out from under the workbench or behind the garage and make it someone else's problem!

Bad drivershaft carrier bearing rubber. Broken e-brake cable. Tailpipe rusting out but original muffler! DPC system disconnected and replaced with a Bowden cable! Pretty wrinkled body overall, good pics. Broken lug stud. Interesting woodgraining (or whatever) on the glovebox. Power steering! And the SD25-style air cleaner assy, nice.

If you look closely, you can see the 6ga wire from the starter through the firewall, presumably to the toggle switch above the manual idle control knob, then back over to the GP bus. Definitely not the way I'd do that -- does not look as though they're using the OEM relay.

Al S.

Yeah, I asked the buyer if they would sell it before the auction ended. It seems like they would sell it for $2000, which is the reserve I think. If someone wants it, they should make a solid offer, bid up to the reserve, and ask the buyer to end the auction.
I thought about it, but I think I'm gonna get RedmondJP's Diesel KC w/ 86k orig miles, as long as it looks good when I check it out on Saturday.

I want to drive cross country this December, and it seems like a better idea to go for the lower miles than that one on ebay that could be either 210k or 110k, plus has a few other issues, as you noted.

The '84 has better front brakes (ie vented rotors) IIRC, and the larger engine, which is nice. Different dashboard too.

"86k original miles" is a strange one. Here's why:

* My '82 Maxima Wagon I purchased from original owner (1997) with 86k (documented) original miles.

* In 1999 I bought a one-owner 1963 Falcon Deluxe Wagon with -- again -- 86k documented original miles.

* In 2004, I bought my first '82 720 KC diesel PU with -- again -- 86k miles.

Now RJP's. It's just an odd coincidence.

Al S.

Only sold for $1600
Not as high as I thought it would go
Not a bad deal if a new engine actually was put in...
