Block-tank heater

Buy it, sell it, negotiate, haggle, drag it out from under the workbench or behind the garage and make it someone else's problem!

THIS could work on anything. Hmmmm. Apparently this one pumps coolant around and heats it.

For a guy in southern CA, you're really into block heaters. WVO experimentation? The propane fired units were always my favorite. Pretty sure you can get diesel fired too. I don't think they are cheap though.

 Short story. While in the hospital recently, instead of giving me an electric heating pad for my arm, they asked me to try a "hydropillator." This is a pad about 15x20" that has prewarmed water recirculated thru it. Has two hoses that connect to a small temperature controlled reservoir. Loved it. Only reaches 103 degrees so you can use it against your skin, it is not a dry heat, and you cannot get burned ... as an electric pad can do. Costs $$ I'm sure.

So that's the underpinning of my new interest in an easily installed and effective block heater. :)

Neat idea. Makes more sense now. Block heater - for medicinal use only.

Further investigation reveals this unit and its smaller 750 watt brother rely solely on thermosyphoning (aka as "convection currents")

Looks like it should but ... seller says no pump.

Overnight temps dipped below 40 here lately. In the morning, truck starts right up with a couple of sputters for the first 10 seconds, 1000 rpm idle, little smoke.
