I have a LD20II. I need to know where I can get a timming belt and information on how to time the motor.

In order to answer your first Q, we need to know where your are. Please click on the "Profile" link at the top of any page (after you've logged in) and fill in the "Location" field. You might want to put info about your vehicle or engine in your Signature block there too.

About the timing information (both IP timing and belt timing), you will have to find the LD20II/T manual, which I can't seem to locate right now online, but which does exist. I've seen it on eBay a half-dozen times over the years.

I, personally, have no idea how I would go about finding that belt, because I'm in the US and it was never available here. I can't even ask Nissan.

I hope member davehoos can help with this, as he's in Oz and the LD20II did show up there years back.

you need to count the teeth on the belt.
there are 2 different belts.

the deal is if you purchased you car at one nissan dealer the other belt wont fit.a nissan E24 Caravan wont fit a E24 Hommy.so in countries like australia we get E24 Urvan.
there are 2 different vanettes so the australian sold LD20II is a lucky dip.
the local dealer carried 2 belts.

there are 2 versions of engine with one has the IP mounted high parrallel to the camshaft-but this dosent make any difference.

original belts have white lines that match up with MARKS ON THE SPROCKETS.and notches on the tinwork.you have to be carefull as there are may different markings for other options.

you get the camshaft and crank on TDC then count down to the IP.
