Save this engine before the crank pirates get it
I discovered this 1982 Maxima Diesel AT sedan yesterday at Portland Auto Wrecking 9635 N. Columbia BLVD. Phone: 503-286-6262
The car is complete except the starter, which I got. It was new. Today, I might get the IP. There is one problem though, they do not have an engine hoist and they do not pull the engine for you. However, they do not care what methods you use to pull the engine.

I was there again today. Wanted to pull the IP then I discovered that the car run on pure veggie oil and the pump might be shot. I pulled the timing belt tensioner, but it was not better than mine. So I left it on the engine. The car has 232k miles on the odometer. It is sitting 6th row from the back of the yard, on the left side.
Finally, I took the harmonic balance pulley. I think, DMS wanted it.

As of today, the Maxima is still there. The engine is complete, well almost.
The IP, starter, harmonic balancer are gone. The AT , alternator and AC compressor are still there. Some parts are in the trunk.

If you pull the IP belt tensioner and alternator, I'll buy those from you (but to avoid shipping, I'd like to pick them up on my way north from LA after Christmas).
I cannot make another trip to PDX before then -- much too much to do to take off another weekend between now and then.
I'd be interested in the injectors , fuel primer pump and Fast Glow Control Unit with plug and a foot of wire. Is this yard a U-pull operation? How do they charge?

Yes, it is a U-Pull yard, however they do have a lot of parts on the shelfs. They have very reasonable prices (u-pull).
Engine, transmission $100, rear end $150.
I paid $35.00 for the IP, $10 for GP Control and $5.00 for the resistor. So these parts are gone too. The injectors, and the intake manifold are still there.
