WTB - wheel opening trim, etc

Hey all
I noticed that the 1983 Maximas used a metal wheel opening trim whereas my 1982 Max has this stick-on plastic chrome trim, some of which is beginning to come off on the driver side. If anyone has a good set of these wheel opening moldings let me know.

Also, if you have a parts car and it has the all-black body side moldings I'd like to acquire those too.

I picked up the driver's front and driver's rear chrome screw-on metal wheel mouldings for you today, Steve. Under $10 for the pair, and I've got the screws too. The pass. rear was bent up and one tab ripped off, and the pass. front fender was gone. There will be a delay in shipping until I find a suitable box -- I don't get things that size shipped to us at work, so I'll have to hunt around.

I now have two sets of left side trim (four pieces), and the RR trim. I will have to see if I have a spare RF trim -- I have two of them, but I'm not sure either one is very good, and they're both on fenders. Want me to send the pieces I have now, or continue looking for the RF?

Drat, I just went out and looked at the burgundy '82 Wagon and it is missing three of four trim pieces, only the LF is still there. I was hoping it had the RF, as I wouldn't mind pulling it off for you: that Wagon is a driver but isn't ever going to be restored, and it's missing the other ones as I remembered, so any trim would be better served on yours. But it's not there.

If the yellow '83 has good RF trim, I might pull the trim off the new RF fender I just picked up. It has a minor dent in the trim, but you probably could use it anyway.

I'm pretty sure I can find another RF wheel arch trim eventually, I just need to make more trips to the "big city" JYs -- something I like to do anyway, it's just rather expensive in terms of time & money.

If you think you'll run across one you can just wait, no problem. I know for a fact that I probably won't run into one around Des Moines, there just aren't (m)any of these around. The one 83 gasser in the salvage yard only had rear trim, and not very good either, the front fenders had both been replaced and the trim wasn't replaced. I think the other gasser was a 1982 and didn't have wheel opening trim.

It's up to you on this one. You might run into one before I do.

I thought I was going to have the RF trim, but I decided to pull the whole fender:

For the yellow '83 Wagon. I'm not going to hang it, but the next owner may want to. You can see the trim has a "wow" in it, but it's not too bad. Since the trim is missing on the Wagon's fender, that means that I don't have a spare.

One will come up sometime, I'll keep looking.

i have a few trims, i still havnt found the time to dig it out but when i do ill snap some pictures and find out where they go

Iowa City works for me, I'm not back in Des Moines yet until mid-May.
