1982 Nissan Maxima Diesel. SVO, WVO, Biodiesel Candidate.
Will Make a Perfect Candidate for a WVO, SVO and Biodiesel Conversion.
Would make a Great Toad to tow behind your Motorhome and share your WVO, SVO and Biodiesel
No Reserve.
Up for Auction is a 1982 Nissan (Datsun) Maxima Diesel. Perfect SVO, WVO, Biodiesel Candidate. No Reserve. 1982 Nissan Maxima Diesel. Perfect SVO, WVO, Biodiesel Candidate. (check pictures). The LD28 2.8L six cylinder diesel engine in these Maximas is just about bulletproof. It has a cast iron cylinder head and cylinder block, is OHC, and the camshaft is run by a chain. The engine makes 88 HP according to the factory specs, but let me tell you it doesn't feel like that once you drive the car. The cars will get up and go and isn't underpowered at all. I only drove the Maxima once, but all the brakes, suspension, trans and engine felt solid and strong. The car is real strong and I think it would blow my Mercedes 123 Turbo's doors off in a 100 yard dash. The speed, mileage, and reliability are all great on these models. The Maxima is rear wheel drive with fully independent suspension and 4 wheel disk brakes. It stops straight and strong. I've read on Nissan forums that this engine is a direct bolt in for a 240Z to 280Z diesel conversion. It might also fit other Datsun/Nissan 6 cylinder rear wheel drive cars. I also read that with a little modification, you can install a Z-Car turbo on this engine, bringing the BHP up to about 115. This vehicle is in good condition for a 25 year old car. The engine, auto trans and drive train are all in good condition. The body is in pretty good condition with a few dents and no rust to speak of. (check pictures) The interior is in need of upholstery as you can see. (check pictures) There is a problem with the light switch or in the wiring and the tail lights stay on when you turn off the lights. The engine runs great, it idles a little high. It is a California car and the tags expired last month. You can get 1 day moving permits from the DMV and I think you could drive it home. I personally wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere. (please check pictures) The vehicle has about 218K miles, but the engine looks and runs good. The Maxima has a clear California pink slip (title). If you wish to see the vehicle before the auction ends, please call (909)821-7040 or (909)823-7058.
