With 5 days to go, it's at $255. Bare cranks usually go for $300-350. This one, because it has the 9mm bolt rods, will likely go above that.

This is why I count myself lucky to have purchased an entire '83 engine for under $350, and why I was willing to drive 600 miles round-trip to get it. The hotrodders are trashing these things faster these days.

I have done that several times (contacted eBay sellers of LD28 cranks and intakes) and have never received a positive reply, so I've given up. You're welcome to!

I sent an email to the buyer, inviting her over here though.

The seller does have a rusty wagon for parts (with engine/trans), if someone else wants to pursue that angle. I'm on the wrong coast for LD28 parts over there.

When I last looked at this posting their were right under $1500.00 (to rich and to far for my blood(Pa.) but, from the pictures this car looked like it just rolled off the showroom floor, well maybe just sat there for 22 yrs and then was rolled, definetly the nicest Maxima Diesel I've seen by far.

The auction for the crank and the auction for the Maxima are from two different selllers. I know nothing about the crank, but I can shed some light on the guy with the Maxima wagon. I bought the running Maxima and looked at the wagon when I was there. I would probably have tried to buy the engine out of the wagon, but I didn't have time on that trip to pull it. The owner indicated it was high miles, and it was missing injectors I believe. He represented it as a rebuildable core. I could give you contact info if you want it. He is in PA, just north of Gettysburg.

Congrats on your purchase at any length, it is a very nice looking car. Did you happen to see the Sentra (parts or car..I don't remember which) that he mentioned in the listing?

He did mention having diesel sentra parts. The inside of the wagon seems to be where he has this stuff stored and it is full of a mix of Maxima, Sentra, and ? The only part I remember seeing that he said was for a sentra was a flywheel. I also saw a radiator that was too small to be for a Maxima. It is hard to say what else he has - I'm not sure he knows.

He may not have had too much, he wasn't real specific about it in the auction if I recall. It was probably only parts and not a complete car.

It sold for $345, so I was pretty close on my guess.

I have a lead on a ratty-interiour wagon in Yakima (no, Steve, not that one!) that's at a car lot. I think it's a wagon, but it might be a sedan. Bad interiour, straight body, $250, it's supposed to run. I don't know more than that, but if someone is seriously interested, I'll get the phone number of the car lot. I can't take on any more orphans right now.
