WTB- Diesel Datsun Maxima Running or not Chassis

Buy it, sell it, negotiate, haggle, drag it out from under the workbench or behind the garage and make it someone else's problem!

Anything can be had for a price . . . are you looking for a pristine collector, a worn-but-serviceable daily driver, or a beater you can cut up and drag race?

Truthfully ? Well I want it because in cali it would be no smog for starters. I want to drop eather a ls1 with t56 in it or a rb20/25. All else failes my ld28 block crank gasser motor with triple 45mm side drafts. I want to put super flush wide wheels on it with some crazy camber.. jdm style. use s13 front suspenion so i can use a coilover system, and for toss the springs and get a strut type adjustable coilover like s13 for rear. Slot rear xmember and all that. I have owned 2 of these in gasser form but every one was hit in one way or another. First one side impacted at like 50 mph, 2nd rear ended like no other from the back. God there no way near a flashy target at all.

OK, so you really need something that isn't rusty and is decent chassis-wise, but you don't need a good engine.

(Up where I am, and eastward, the Gen1 Maximas seem to be pretty rusty in general.)

I guess my next Q is: why does it need to be . . .

Wouldn't a Gen1 gasser do as well? Or, is there something different about the diesel's chassis (front springs?)?

[later]

Hmmm, for the front strut springs, Nissan FAST shows the earlier part Nos. turning into the diesel one. Put another way, if you went to buy a replacement spring for your 1981-on 810/Maxima (any body style, any engine) you get the diesel spring. So there's probably not a lot of difference in them.

I assume you're looking for a Sedan, rather than a Wagon?

Well I want diesel because it will require no smog because its an original diesel car ? I will convert it over.. nothing i cant do.. i have done much more insane things.

Oh. Of course, you said that. I must be a bit dense today. Diesel title, check.

Good, we won't be competing with each other (I like Wagons).

LS1's would work, well :)

Why not a ls6, same engine, more power, but more demand and more pricey.

Im curious to how the body will hold up under the power

The gassers in New York are smog exempt if they are over 25 yrs old. For example, I have to have a safety check during my inspection and no tailpipe emissions testing, id check with your state, you may be able to expand your search to a 25+ year old gasser as well.
