WTB looking for a/c compressor

Buy it, sell it, negotiate, haggle, drag it out from under the workbench or behind the garage and make it someone else's problem!

Be certain that you get the diesel compressor, as it's different.

I'm still looking for a a/c compressor for my little sedan 1982 diesel maxima
I have the old compressor off and wrote down all the numbers off it, one digit was scraped off and can't read it

type MJS 170 5AM

ser# 203615

part # C63?7 the digit between the 3 and the 7 was scraped off before I got to it.

I asked over at the oem supply store and they really don't know what application is for what and said
I really need to know it will fit before I buy
I asked at the local Bumper to Bumper store about ordering one and they said they couldn't get one

So any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance for all your help

See the picture in this post for a pic of the label on my '83 Wagon last year. If you click on the pic, you can get a higher resolution pic.

The diesel compressor is a different unit than for the gasser. I have seen several locked up diesel A/C compressors (including the one on the '81 Wagon I just parted out).

==============

I drove my '82 Wagon to Tacoma and back today, first time since I changed the oil in January. Got to run the A/C for about three hours, and it still works well -- I will miss A/C in the Sentra.

Picked up a very nice (blue) 1985 720 hood for the "Arlington Truck" (but the cowl was gone already), the windshield from same, and an HEI distributor for my '71 Chev 292.

Al S.

Well I'm not having any success in finding a new a/c compressor. Does anybody know of a place I could send my old one off to and have it rebuilt?
I don't know what to do, the family is going to make me start driving something else if I don't get A/C SOON

One of the compressors is still listed via nismoparts.

92610-W2100 Compressor w/o clutch, $415 + $50 shipping

The other compressor doesn't come up as a good number at nismoparts. See what you can do with it.

For that kind of money, I think I'd graft in something else. I think A/C compressors are more-or-less interchangeable at the functional level.

Aircoparts.com lists the MJS170 for rebuilt (I think).

I don't know how to identify the correct compressor, I only know that the FSM seems to make a distinction between the MJS170 on the gasser and the diesel -- I don't know the particulars.

If PA's images above are accurate, the gasser compressor has two sheave grooves, the case has a real sump, the case has two more mounting ears, but the hoses connections are approximately the same as the LD version. Just observations.
