turbo good...
Turbo it!! Same answer I've given multiple times- more torque, better MPG, and the cool whistley sound...
I'd rather bathe in diesel than get a drop of gasoline on me. Makes a nice cologne too.

The TD engines are completely different than the SDs.

Who can say? Someone who knows both engines. That's not me, because I've never seen a TD25 in the flesh, as they were never sold in the US.
Just a guess, though: modern automotive diesels have better airflow (volumetric efficiency) than the old SD. I don't think that a turbo from a stock TD25 application would be a good size match for the SD, even if you have an SD of the same displacement (ie an SD25). Most of the SDs still running in the US are the 2.2l, not the 2.5l.
IOW, there has got to be better turbo choices around than a turbo from an engine that was never available in the US in any significant numbers.
