need pic of power steering unit on SD22
can anyone post a pic of the factory power steering on an SD22?
Is the unit and bracket the same as the Z series gas motor?
Thanks!

The pics in the FSM (I checked both 1982 & 1984) have crappy pics.
The SD22 & SD25 have a remote-reservoir setup. They don't show where the reservoir mounts, but I'd guess on the passenger fender somewhere.
The PS pump for the SDs is mounted on the right side of the engine and down at the oil pan/block area, very low.
The PS box and steering column in general seem to be the same between the gasser and diesel versions of the 720, from what I am seeing.

On my 83 SD-25, the reservoir is mounted to the engine on the R/F, next to the VC on the bracket to lift out the engine.

I have a factory power steering package from a 1985 Nissan 720 SD25 truck, as mentioned the pump is very low on the right side below the injection pump, the reservoir is up high mounted on the engine in front of the injection pump injector lines.
The engine has a 3 groove harmonic balancer, the inside groove is for the power steering pump, the middle groove is for the water pump/alt, and the outside groove would be the air conditioner pump I suspect.
I can get photos of this if you still need them, as the engine is not in a vehicle at the moment, I overheated it one night, and now it smokes white smoke for at least 10 minutes till it warms up, it's sad really, the damned instrument lights died the night that hose sprung a leak, didn't know it was hot till I stopped at the freeway off ramp intersection stop sign.
Reply to this thread that you still want the photos, and I will go take some.

Keep in mind that this engine is packed away in my shed for a future rebuild, so I was only able to get certain angles.
The reservoir mount location.

The power steering pump pulley, and the tensioner pulley.

PS pulley, and the pressure hose mount location.

The 3 groove harmonic balancer, and the lower tensioner pulley.

Power steering pump again.

Power steering pump, pressure hose mount, and return line location.

Pump back mount.

Pump pulley and tensioner, fifferent angle.
