You are bidding on a Hitachi, 12 Volt, 60 Amp, Internal Regulator Rebuilt Alternator that fits the following car: 1981-1983 Nissan Maxima with the 2.8L Diesel engine. This is Lester part number 14613, and Nissan part number 23100-W1806, 23100-W1807, 23100-W2500, 23100-W2501, and 23100-W2502. Buyer will add $15 for shipping
This is a very good price for a rebuilt alternator, even it it's a cheap rebuild. I just spent $130 on parts to rebuild an SD22 alternator last week.
I don't need any more LD28 alternators, as I have three spares that have tested good (with vac pumps). But you want to change your brushes prophylactically, as they'll wear out the slip rings when they get low. The brushes can be replaced without removing the alternator from the car.
Saw this item last night and thought it wasn't a bad deal. I wondered about the cheap rebuild though, there are so many of them out there now. I think the original owner bought a rebuilt alt. for my car at some point.
I should check on the brushes for mine, where can I get these?
thanks

Here's another one, same price, ends 17-Dec 1500 PST. I think if I wasn't tapped out, I'd buy it and stash it. I know I can't rebuild one for anywhere near that price, and even if it's a cheap rebuild, it'd still be a good short-term unit.

It's the same one, didn't sell round one, I've been watching it thinking that it should be snagged and put away for just such an emergency!
