I have a nissan diesel sd16 generator. I cannot seem to find any information on this motor. Can anybody help point me in the right direction?
It's in my race car trailer that I just bought. The guy said it has been sitting for a few years. It sounds like it wants to crank over but will not start. I think the glow plugs might be faulty. But here agian, not sure.
Is there some kind of repair manual for this or what?
Any info will help.

There was an auction a couple of years back, and the online photos of various engines did show an SD16. As I recall, it was a 3-cylinder variant of the SD.

Other than that, I have no info, but I bet that most of the "normal" SD22 info applies to the SD16, with the exception of the IP.
The SD has a lot of variants.
In agricultural, marine, and genset use, these engines' ancilliary systems are often customized, especially governors, start/stop, and glow plug control. If you can't find the *exact* manual(s) for the genset, you'll have to do like the rest of us: apply basic priniciples and muddle along as best you can.

I read through the above links to the other thread on the auctions from a couple years back. I didn`t pick up any real info explaining about the engine. except it was used for a gen set etc...
Maybe I mis read what he was asking for. I assumed he was looking for a FSM on the engine. Jesco being a distributor on the Nissan Diesel eng. should have it I would presume.
I understand Jesco was auctioning off the engines. wish I knew about it then.
