IF your looking at this add chances are you know what this is. The last engine I saw available sold for $1800. Jesco is no longer an alternative. So serious offers of $1500 or better will be considered. I would consider SR20VET as trade.
If you want to buy this and go crazy I will point you in the direction of a $500 bolt on OEM Turbo setup for this engine.

Im not gonna take a low ball. I can hold onto this setup in case I ever decide to make the car stock again just as easily.

I built a custom diesel drivetrain for my 1984 Jeep XJ (Wagoneer in this case, but same as Cherokee) This is a Nissan SD-22 diesel engine with newly rebuilt head and new glow plugs, new starter, new oil pump, new Mitsubishi turbo, a full custom serpentine belt system, attached through a centerforce clutch to a B-W T-5 transmission and NP231 transfer case. Driveshafts and 4.11:1 axles also in good shape, good doors on the Jeep too. The torque this engine makes broke the frame on my jeep (425k miles before the diesel was installed). I parked it and then got a great deal on a Dodge Cummins truck, so I want to see this go to a good home. This drivetrain will achieve 40MPG on the highway at 60MPH and will climb almost anything. The drivetrain is still in the Jeep to protect it from the elements- take the entire Jeep. I stripped alot of the accessories from it, so it will not start without basic stuff (fuel, battery, etc), but I turn it over every month with the alternator fins. Come and get it.


SD-22 broke the frame??? and get 40 MPG??? :>O

I just talked to the guy today on the phone.
He said he put a wrench on the crank, and it will not turn over. He knows nothing about it, got it by doing some work for a guy.

So far it is just a Boat Anchor, til proven innocent. ;>)

I like the Maxima diesel ads that claim 40 MPG! Maybe that's Imperial gallons

My non-OD 1982 Wagon was consistently achieving 25-28 MPG, over about 80k that I had it. The later OD ones do a bit better, but 40 MPG from it isn't very likely.

Saw this on E-Bay, located in Colorado. 82 Datsun PU. Looks like it is the engine and transmission for $59. in another listing he had it for $64. says it has 174K miles.

My 83' Maxima Sedan with OD mostly highway has averaged 36 mpg highest ever was 39.89mpg on an all highway trip cruising 70-75mph.

I don't think that the '83 Sedan (w/OD) that I sold to Mark Hartz has ever crested 33 MPG.
