Alarm Lock DL1200, DL1300, PDL1300 and variants are narrow-stile exit device combo locks typically used on Storefront doors. There are a few notes I want to keep on these, as I install/service them so infrequently that I forget.
As the override cylinder is difficult to R&R to rekey, I always install these with an IC housing.
Three things to keep in mind on this model:
- The override cylinder (or IC housing) requires a special cam. For Schlage FSIC mortise housing, use HW1350. Order it separately.
- The depth to which the IC housing is installed in the front chassis is fussier than usual. I found 0.400" to be a sweet spot.
- The tailpiece, which interfaces the lock to the exit device, does not come with the lock. Order it separately, specifying the tailpiece that's designed to mate with your exit device.
Shown: DL1300.

Install the mortise cyl. or IC housing to a depth of 0.400" as shown below. If installed deeper, then when the cam swings it will run into the thin side of the ell actuator and bind, instead of moving the actuator.

- Tip: if the backplate won't mate fully with chassis, maybe your mortise cyl. is installed too deep.

The documentation only shows the above tailpiece selection, with the TP-1691 being the longest offered, at 1-15/16".
But! The Extended Spindle Kit
S6146 for the ETDL/ETPDL product fits the DL1200/DL1300 series as well, and it's a
lot longer.

There are even longer spindles available for very odd situations:
