This is my diesel. The rims were on the truck when I bought it, (don't hold that against me  ). My plan is to highly modify it, while still keeping fuel mileage and reliablity.

"Bag?" If that is "lowering" then the term is "slam".

Definitely get a bigger tailpipe. It won't do a darn thing, but MAN will it look cool! A chrome one will really complement those wheels too.

Seriously, though. If you want maximum fuel economy, you need to go back to the tall, skinny tires that it came with (also helps reduce steering effort if you don't have power steering). Word.

People don't believe how much of an effect tire size/width has on fuel mileage. A friend of mine put bigger tires (33"?) on his early 90s Chevy pickup--his highway mileage dropped from 18 to 14 mpg, just from the tires alone. Ouch. That's a 22% mileage hit!

"Bag" as in pneumatics. Air bags. Low some of the time, but not all of the time. Fairly popular mod up here.

Ditto - taller skinnier tires are easier for manual steering and they're better in snow too, not that you have to worry a lot about that!

I have no intentions on "Slamming" this truck. (I'm kind of wierded out that Phillip knew that). Nor lifting its not 4 wheel drive so to do that would be merely for show. One thing I hate is non functional crap on a vehicle. The plan is to go kind of Military truck with it. Lots of Olive Drab and even more Herculiner. As for exhaust I was planning on a single 2.5" stack that would come out right behind the driver’s side of the bed. Before you scoff at me, this will then allow me to install an auxiliary fuel tank. For lack of a better term I want to build an endurance Truck.

'Ey ... gonna go bumpin' my slammed Duce on Whittier Blvd!' My favorite mini pickup bone yard (Fermans) is in Santana (Santa Ana). You can't help hearing some low rider lingo after awhile

Very nice truck and the rims make it look that much cooler. Almost looked like a Hardbody at first when I saw the rims. I like the paint color too and if it were me I'd probably just keep that. Also, a 2.5" diameter exhaust stack would be the way to go, but I'd run smaller diameter pipe under the truck all the way to the muffler and then you can go to 2.5" as immediate as possible after the muffler. I've always thought that is the best way to do an exhaust system with a stack when the vehicle has an N/A diesel engine. A stack would look really cool coming out of the bed and 2.5" for the size is hitting it right on the nail. Good luck with it all.
