I didn't at first, but . . . .
and can i re use the gasket if i remove only the intake manifold?
Probably not. I took only the intake off at first, but when I decided I had to clean out the intake ports (using aerosol carb cleaner, a brass wire brush, and Shop-Vac with a garden hose duct-taped to the end, to get right to the valve stems), I unbolted the exhaust manifold and I think I just pulled it back from the head -- I don't recall taking it off the headpipe, but I really don't remember.

Al S.
