LD28 Head, info and pics requested

Hi guys. I'd like to get some information and pictures of the ld28 head.

I remember seeing some posted by Al, I believe on one of the isuzu forums. I haven't been able to search back and find these though. Couple different angles I'm looking to see. Would like a few shots of the combustion chamber/gaskets side, and some under the valve covers. I'd like to see just how similar to the L28 valvetrain it is. Some nice flat pictures of the head gasket would be appreciated too.

What is the cc size of the combustion chamber? Is this measured and calculated with in the same way as a gasser's chamber? If we do not have this data, do we know the pin height and dome/cup size of the pistons?

I'm playing around with the really cool calculator at http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/enginedesign/ Its got several LD component datas entered, but only ones relevant to modding gassers!

Well, thanks for the pics and data.

Hmmm. Though I own (now two of them) a huge old A3 scanner (will do 11"x17"), an LD28 head gasket won't fit on it. I could scan it twice into two pics and splice them, but that's work. How badly do you want it? Would a typical camera pic do? I've got several gaskets.

On a diesel, there IS NO COMBUSTION CHAMBER. Looking at the head gasket side of the head, it's flat. Really. Let me see, I think I have an SD22 head picture somewhere . . . well, I have several pics but none show clearly that there is no combustion chamber, because all the pics I have have the head gasket laid on the head.

Remember the three different head gasket thicknesses for the LD28 (the reason that the head gasket set does not come with an actual head gasket)? The squish volume of the gasket thickness plus the piston's deck height determine the compression ratio on the LD28, and this is fairly common on IDI diesels.

Perhaps Salvy took pics when he had to replace his head gasket a couple of years ago. I've never had an LD28 head off, so I have no pics. Or, maybe member diesel-man could snap a shot.
