SnapOn MT257A from a new seller with zero feedback. Probably go cheap, it will have to for me to bid with no feedback.

Yeah, after only one MT257A has come up on eBay in the last year, two sold in the last two weeks. Both sold for over $200. I bid on them both, but I'm not paying anywhere near that much, not when I can use one of my two J-33300s instead.

I'll bid on this one too, but it'll likely go for those same inflated prices.

I wonder what happened. I was planning on bidding on it, but it's gone. Did one of you buy it?

I didn't buy it. It didn't have a buy it now and I don't think it got a bid. It was a brand new seller. I think E-Bay pulled the listing. I've never seen an item completely disappear like that.

Oh, I have, several times. For example . . .

I bid on something a couple of weeks ago, and eBay cancelled the auction. They sent me an email saying they did it, and that because I was a bidder they were notifying me, but eBay never said specifically why the auction was ended, only that some terms of use were violated [shrug].

Anyway, I'm still looking. I'm not going to pay $200 for one, no way. My local Snap-On dealer was going to sell me one for $75 but he never could find it -- even after I bugged him for six months.

I want to try one to see if the piezo pickup works better than the one on the Kent-Moore J-33300 units I have -- they're not rock-solid on the pickup via the injection line, they do the job but are a bit finicky.

Al S.

Al: Do you have posted or might you send me photos of the piezo clamp adaptors for the Kent-Moore? I have one now but no clamp adaptors. Maybe the Seller still has them but doesn't know they belong with this tool. I did get the magnetic wand though!

I bench tested this unit and finally got it figured out. It works! :D

I've never seen the 6mm pickup (for 6mm injector line diameter), only the 1/4" one. I used to know the suffix of the pickups. I'm pretty sure that the 1/4" pickup is J-33300-50, and I think I recall that the 6mm one is J-33300-25, but I can't find my notes and Google is not finding my old reference notes.

No, I don't know of a source for the transducers. I'd like to have a 6mm one.

So is the 1/4" or the 6mm size needed for the SD?

I assume that the 6mm transducer would be more appropriate. I've been using the 1/4" one because that's what I have ;) and it does work, though as I mentioned it's not rock-solid on the signal.

I dropped a note to the Seller asking if he would look around his inventory for a/the pulse adaptor. I did get the harnass and the little forked terminal has been used (bent and marked) so the adaptor clamp may be around there somewhere .... I hope.

Also emailed Kent-Moore this evening. Hopefully they will respond otherwise, I'll call them.

Looking for the 6mm size.

Well, after some "clarification" (and I use the term loosely), I got a qualified response from Kent-Moore tools:
