I've noticed twice that changes I've made to the FAQ seem to disappear. I just figured out why: the time base on the two boxes that synchonize (backup to each other) every night are eight hours off, due to wierdness with the OS/2 port of the php scripting language being unable to determine the correct UTC.
This means that if update the FAQ in my off-site text file with the eight hours prior to the nightly backup, my changes get overwritten by the backup copy. Shit. I'll have to watch out for that in future. Short-term, I moved my FAQ edit script to edit the copy on the server that runs "in the future".

Al,
I edited the FAQ. Is the above mentioned going to bite us?

Maybe. Go edit it again, and this time take a copy of everything in the Compose textbox, save it to a local file. If there's a problem tomorrow, you can re-edit it (and tell me the edits didn't stick).
But I think I resolved the local boxes' timebase issue on my end: if I don't get lazy and edit the backup copy instead of the active copy, things should be fine. But I'm not 100% on that, so make a local backup.
Also, when you make a change to the FAQ, if you can summarize the change in the History section at the bottom of the FAQ, and post that same summary here.
[later]
Oh, I see you did half of that. Here's the part you missed (posting the change):
=====================================
29-Sep-07
Corrected Nissan part number for IP belt
Added links to 83 oil filter info.
Added flaps to Acronyms.
=====================================
Good work! Thanks for fixing it. I'd wondered where Mark got the wrong number, 'cuz when I looked it was right

I saved a local copy to a text editor, both before and after editing. Man, there is a lot of BBcode in that thing!

"Select" used to mean the "2" prefixed filters, which even previous to that were NAPA's "Silver line", ie cheaper -- to compete.
I am unfamiliar with the "9" prefix filters, they are newer. But "Select" is a bad word for me in NAPA-speak.
Look for orange (silicone) anti-drainback valve, rather than black (nitrile). The "5" prefix filters (which equals no prefix, when Wix filters are sold by NAPA, so one less digit in the part No.) are the Gold filters and are noticeably heavier (weight-wise) than the "2" prefix Select oil filters.

Updated MY changes for 1982: PDL circuit gets a circuit breaker instead of fusible link; PDL & PW circuit breakers are now round instead of rectangular.

Added glowplug info.
This had been added before, but I didn't note it here or in the revision history in the FAQ and it got lost when Al made his revision. Bad procedure on my part, now fixed.
