1982 Datsun Pickup with diesel engine and 5spd trans. Body in poor shape, but engine runs excellent!! Asking $875! 45mpg!! These pickups are getting hard to find!

Also have a 1986 Nissan Pickup, runs and drives, 5spd trans behind a good running Z engine! Asking $1500, nice little truck!

This is a 1982 Datsun Diesel we are parting out. Engine runs nice and you can hear it run. 5spd trans works fine. Also have rear end, complete drivers door, windshield, black dash, door panels, wiring harness, and all engine components and parts. Passenger door glass is broke, has hole in door but not from rust, easy fix. Great for conversion from gas to diesel. Comes with fuel tank, will mount right up to your Datsun! Parts or take whole truck for $1200. Can give you advice on how to get paperwork to put it back on the road. Truck just needs brake work!!

Radiator - $100
Alternator, Power Steering Pump combination - $100

Well, the vacuum pump does look a bit like a Japanese power steering pump, right?

The next step for this guy would be to complete disassemble the vehicle, and put every single stupid piece on Ebay (all at the same time of course), ending up with item descriptions such as the following:

- RARE 1982 Datsun diesel pickup window crank handle
- RARE 1982 Datsun diesel pickup door panel
- RARE 1982 Datsun diesel pickup license plate holder
etc.

Engine runs great; this engine is a hard to find little gem!! Selling this as a Parts truck only as we have no paperwork!! Truck runs and drives, but brakes are shot. Body is pretty well beat from top to bottom, has axe holes from a domestic violence dispute before we got it. Use the engine and trans and any parts you can find and junk the rest! We were going to convert another truck we have into a diesel, but now don't have the time or money! We have a new baby on the way and must sell!! Asking $850 cash for engine, or $1000 takes whole truck!

A-ha! I didn't catch the 'paperwork' reference in the first parting ad. My guess is that this truck is not even in their name, so they can't even go and get an affidavit in lieu of title. 'Buyer' beware! I see this on CL too often, and it raises legal issues which a lot of people seem to disregard (selling a vehicle which is not legally theirs).

Even if it's a parts vehicle, you really need to have the title in your name when you want to get rid of the carcass, unless you cut it all up into fairly small pieces and haul it off as scrap metal (a lot of work) and/or bury it in the back 40 (I know a guy who actually did this, but he did cut it up first--was the same type of deal, bought a junker with no title just for the motor).
