Chassis number Nissan Diesel (e.g. Laurel 2.8 Diesel)

Hello,

I have a Land Rover with a LD28 engine.
Every time I need a part at the Nissan dealer the first thing he asks me is the chassis number of the car. But the car is not a Nissan!
The chassis number of the engine or type (LD28) is not good enough.
Can someone provide me with a chassis number with model and year?

have a look for something with a date on it on the engine.normally alloy castings.

japanese parts book list month of production chasis numbers.IE
chasis number at start and finish of month.also production changes cut off points.[in japanese].

if you are in europe the chasis number should be a VIN number.
in japan only a model and serial numbers are used.australia changed over to vin numbers around 1990.

[STANGE THAT THE TAXI MODEL IN JAPAN ARE MANUAL.910 BLUEBIRD taxi has colum shift 3 speed,bench seat and a clutch that has adjustable fingers and springs..

I was a little confused by some details in manuals..IE last LD28 car built 10/86.but last chasis number 8/87,
first month11/84 is 000461 -last chasis number 8/86 is 016163.
but then it list 10/86 000001 8/87 008582.after the last car built.

but the european book list the same chasis numbers of the first bit.then,
vin number SJN10EJC32UO000054 12/85 last chasis number 12/86 SJN10EJC32UO004782

I have two (US) VINs for my two Wagons.

1982 LD28 Wagon: JN1SU05S4CX005840

1983 LD28 Wagon: JN1SU05S4DX008335
